  1. Connect Safety Circuits to the NC contact (11-12 or 21-22). Contact closes when the rope is properly attached and tensioned. If the rope is either cut or pulled, the contacts open. Normally Open contacts for indicating circuits. Do not use Normally Open contacts in the Safety Circuit.
  2. Mount the switch using tamper-resistant fasteners (not supplied). Use washers under the fasteners to prevent the fasteners from pulling through the switch mounting holes.
  3. Rope tensioning - see Figure 1.
    To properly tension the rope, extend the activating rod until the indicator is at the half point of the green ring. To transfer the contacts on "Manual Reset" type, pull out the "reset" knob. Contacts automatically transfer on "Automatic Reset" type.
  4. Do not use the switch as a mechanical stop.
  5. Verify proper Safety Switch operation before placing the machine in service.
