Industrial Cam Switches are rugged, manually operated, modular,
horsepower rated, UL Listed switches, with isolated positive double
break cam operated silver contacts built to international standards
to switch motor and other high amperage loads. The switch can be
used as a motor control switch, motor reversing switch, motor lockout
switch, low cost alternative to a PLC, multi-pole control function
switch or power control switch. It can also be tailored to the customer's
specific needs.
Industrial Cam Switches
consist of one or more modular segments with independent activating
cams permitting an infinite variety of contact arrangements. This
modular design allows a vast number of switching patterns and contact
arrangements, with up to 12 handle positions and switching up to
24 poles. This modular design is a standard feature on
all Industrial Cam Switches.
Switches are
UL Listed with amp ratings from 20 amps to 630 amps, 600 volt.
Through the 100 Series the switches are UL Listed with horsepower
ratings to directly control electric motor loads. The switch
can start / stop, or reverse electric motors (single or three
phase) under load, as a low cost manual motor controller.
The switch can be
used as a Safety Lockout Switch. When supplied with the Lockable
Handle Assembly, the switch can be padlocked in the “OFF”
position with up to 3 padlocks (not furnished) meeting the requirements
of OSHA 1910. The switch can be supplied with 2 or 3 poles for single
or three phase motors or with 6 poles for two speed motors.
All Cam Switches
have an undercut shaft extending 5 mm from the switch face. The
undercut shaft accepts a round gasket. Additional square gaskets
are available for particular handle assemblies for additional protection.
Switches can be environmental protected up to Type 4X (IP65).
The flexibility,
rugged construction, UL Listing, amp and horsepower ratings allows
the switch to be the solution to a variety of motor control, power
flow or control panel applications. They are designed for universal
industrial application. They are available in switching angles of
30°, 45°, 60° or 90°.
